They just got a different tool to use than we do: They kill innocent lives to achieve objectives. That's what they do. And they're good. They get on the TV screens and they get people to ask questions about, well, you know, this, that or the other. I mean, they're able to kind of say to people: Don't come and bother us, because we will kill you. Bush - Joint News Conference with Blair - 28 July '06

Blair: Two lies about Iran in Two Days

[1] Press Conference 3 August '06:

"I have to say I think the comments of the Iranian President earlier today that the solution lies in the elimination of Israel are deeply unhelpful and an indication I am afraid of how important it is that we have a strong, as I called it, alliance of moderation to take on those people with such extreme views." -
- or did the President call for the 'elimination of the Zionist regime?'

[2] Blair speech to the World Affairs Council in Los Angeles 1 August '06:

"Iran's President ... [is] trying to acquire a nuclear weapon."

- what is clear and without doubt is that Blair has absolutely no proof to substantiate this claim. Blair may think that Iran's President is trying to acquire a nuclear weapon, John Bolton may think that he is, all sorts of neocon war mongers may think that he is - I may think that he is - but this claim from Blair is on the same level as the claims he made that Iraq had a store of WMD's. It is false - and will remain false just so long as no proof is forthcoming.
