They just got a different tool to use than we do: They kill innocent lives to achieve objectives. That's what they do. And they're good. They get on the TV screens and they get people to ask questions about, well, you know, this, that or the other. I mean, they're able to kind of say to people: Don't come and bother us, because we will kill you. Bush - Joint News Conference with Blair - 28 July '06

Bush links 'terror plot' to Lebanon lies

From Bush's radio address:

"America is fighting a tough war against an enemy whose ruthlessness is clear for all to see. The terrorists attempt to bring down airplanes full of innocent men, women, and children. They kill civilians and American servicemen in Iraq and Afghanistan, and they deliberately hide behind civilians in Lebanon. They are seeking to spread their totalitarian ideology."

He also said, and I am shocked...... "Unfortunately, some have suggested recently that the terrorist threat is being used for partisan political advantage." Link

Hezbollah - The "hiding among civilians" myth

db: Like Blair, and Bush above, the neocons are pushing the following narrative: "Whether they're Hezbullah, Hamas, Jihad, the Brotherhood, or al Qaeda they are all one and the same .... that's who we're fighting" - Christopher Shays - Republican Representative and chairman of U.S. House Subcommittee on National Security, Emerging Threats and International Relations [nice title] speaking on BBC Newsnight last Thursday. Anyone who has spent a minimum of ten minutes reading up on the Middle East knows that is bullshit - they are not 'one and the same' - the aims, methods, ideologies are all quite different - and most would not consider themselves to be fighting 'us' - but it does not suit Bush or Blair's goals to tell us that.
