Iran's Top Cleric Warns U.S. Over Lebanon Conflict

Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei labeled the U.S. a "partner in crime" and warned that it will feel the "crushing fist" of the Islamic people for its support of Israel over the conflict with Hezbollah in Lebanon.

The U.S. is "practically a partner in the heinous crimes committed" through what Khamenei said was its support for the killings of civilians in Lebanon, "opposition to cease-fire and by providing armaments, financial assistance and political support to the Zionist aggressors."

The "American regime must expect a hard slap on the face" and to feel the "crushing fist" of the Islamic community worldwide because of its stance, state television quoted the cleric, Iran's highest authority, as saying today in a statement. Read more
