They just got a different tool to use than we do: They kill innocent lives to achieve objectives. That's what they do. And they're good. They get on the TV screens and they get people to ask questions about, well, you know, this, that or the other. I mean, they're able to kind of say to people: Don't come and bother us, because we will kill you. Bush - Joint News Conference with Blair - 28 July '06

Blair: Iran's president 'trying to acquire nuclear weapon'

From Blair speech to the World Affairs Council in Los Angeles:

"Iran's President has called for Israel to be "wiped off the map". And he's trying to acquire a nuclear weapon." Full text
Whilst not wanting to get into the did he or didn't he debate regarding President Ahmadinejad's alleged 'wipe Israel off the map' statement [Google Juan Cole on this] - what is clear and without doubt is that Blair has absolutely no proof to substantiate his claim that Iran's President is trying to acquire a nuclear weapon. Blair may think that he is, John Bolton may think that he is, all sorts of neocon war mongers may think that he is - I may think that he is - but these claims from Blair are on the same level as the claims he made that Iraq had a store of WMD's. They are false - and will remain false just so long as no proof is forthcoming.
