They just got a different tool to use than we do: They kill innocent lives to achieve objectives. That's what they do. And they're good. They get on the TV screens and they get people to ask questions about, well, you know, this, that or the other. I mean, they're able to kind of say to people: Don't come and bother us, because we will kill you. Bush - Joint News Conference with Blair - 28 July '06

Britain patiently waits for 'terror plot' evidence

Cryptome smells a rat [see below]. As we said yesterday we're going to suspend our judgment for a little while longer - but people need to remember this - there is not one good reason to take anything our government says regarding 'terrorism' or 'war' at face value. Don't forget these people have history - they bungle, they spin, they lie. They manipulate the facts for political gain. They do not deserve 'faith'. It doesn't help their case that Blair went on holiday two days before the story broke - after alerting Bush on Sunday. If the threat gets linked to Iran then it's time to worry.
"Still no evidence that the British alarm about aircraft terrorist threat is genuine. Public warnings and police deployment have turned out wrong in the past in the UK, US and imitators. Incorrect and overblown intelligence undergirded the Iraq War and is commonly used to prop up failing political agendas. Dubious recycling of the Ramzi Yousef precedent.

Amazingly unquestioned repetition of official pronouncements by the media and dozens of terrorism specialists, identical to the run-up to Iraq. An attack on Iran is the likely intent. Blair and Bush cooked this up to ward off declining public support for their unimaginable, unprecedented, murderous secret spy-lied natsec budgets." Link

Guardian: The White House framed the apparently thwarted terrorist plot as a direct attack on the US yesterday, as America responded to the news from London with a nationwide tightening of airport security. Link
