They just got a different tool to use than we do: They kill innocent lives to achieve objectives. That's what they do. And they're good. They get on the TV screens and they get people to ask questions about, well, you know, this, that or the other. I mean, they're able to kind of say to people: Don't come and bother us, because we will kill you. Bush - Joint News Conference with Blair - 28 July '06

Asymmetric 'suicide' at torture camp Guantanamo

Indefinite incarceration without trial under the lawless regime of terror at Guantanamo Bay has resulted in the death of three prisoners - all accused by the Bush government of being 'bad men' seeking to subvert the blessed security of the USA. The camp authority claims that the three committed suicide. We have no way of verifying that assertion. It's equally possible that they were murdered - I can't think of a single reason why statements emitting from the likes of camp commander Rear Admiral Harry Harris should be treated with anything but the most acute skepticism.

Notwithstanding the above, if we make the mental leap and assume that for some unknown reason the morally bankrupt camp commander and his various partners in crime are speaking the truth when they tell us that the three took their own lives then that calls for some celebration, if for no other reason than the indisputable fact that the dead are now free of their tormentors - and became so at a time, if not a place, of their own choosing. If a moral case can be made for 'suicide' as an escape from painful, intractable illness - then certainly a case can be made for it as a vehicle of escape from a US made hell.

Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Public Diplomacy - Ms Colleen Graffy - told the BBC that the 'suicides' were a "good PR move to draw attention" and part of a strategy and "a tactic to further the jihadi cause". Clearly Ms Graffy - the DASSPD - is seeking to perpetuate the commonly held US delusion that guilt is conferred upon captives by their very presence at Guantanamo, without need for proof, or a legal case of any description. From that standpoint it is but a small step for the DASSPD to assert that the three shared the same "jiahdi cause" - and from there she feels able to logically deduce that it was for the furtherance of said "jihadi cause" that the three 'hanged themselves'. This of course discounts the possibility the men committed 'suicide' to escape from a nightmare of torture and abuse at the hands of US thugs - who - like their pals in Irak - see dark-skinned Muslims as a subhuman species undeserving of pity or the level of care that you would show a dog. I guess that goes without saying.

Now a pooch is one thing but enemies of the state, particularly evil-radical-Muslim-jihadi enemies of the state - that want to harm Americans - is something else. Those beasts must rot in their cages.

A spokesman for the British prime minister - the neocon war criminal Anthony Charles Lynton Blair - stated Sunday that the deaths were a "sad incident" - that's a phrase similar to the other well worn cliche - often rolled out when Israel murders [dark-skinned Muslim] civilians - "a tragedy". It makes the dead sound like unlucky victims of circumstance, with nobody to blame but their unfortunate selves.

The last word goes to the affable US nazi Harry-the-camp-commander who has little doubt regarding the motives of our dead but free 'jihadis' - "They have no regard for human life. Neither ours nor their own," he said. "I believe this was not an act of desperation but an act of asymmetric warfare against us."
