They just got a different tool to use than we do: They kill innocent lives to achieve objectives. That's what they do. And they're good. They get on the TV screens and they get people to ask questions about, well, you know, this, that or the other. I mean, they're able to kind of say to people: Don't come and bother us, because we will kill you. Bush - Joint News Conference with Blair - 28 July '06

Republicans Concerned Rumsfeld Losing Votes

zaman: Members of the Republican Party in the US Congress are worried about losing votes in the November congressional elections because of Donald Rumsfeld, the US Secretary of Defense, who is accused of making mistakes by showing too little regard for the military advice his was given during the Iraq war.

The US Department of Defense backed Rumsfeld in front of prominent retired generals who demand the Secretary's resignation.

The Pentagon defended the decisions by sending e-mails to a total of 8,000 generals over the weekend.

Republican Congressmen and retired generals commented that Rumsfeld's resignation was the right step to take.

Rumsfeld offered his resignation to President George W. Bush during the Abu Ghraib scandal, but Bush would not accept it. Link
