They just got a different tool to use than we do: They kill innocent lives to achieve objectives. That's what they do. And they're good. They get on the TV screens and they get people to ask questions about, well, you know, this, that or the other. I mean, they're able to kind of say to people: Don't come and bother us, because we will kill you. Bush - Joint News Conference with Blair - 28 July '06

Berlusconi rejects centre-left victory

dw-world: With the narrowest of margins, Italy's Romano Prodi has been declared the official winner of the parliamentary elections. But Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi is refusing to concede defeat, saying there had been voting irregularities. He raised the prospect of declaring invalid the pivotal votes for six seats chosen by Italians living abroad. Berlusconi added that he wouldn't rule out entering into a German-style "grand coalition". But that appears unlikely as Prodi's centre-left coalition won a majority in both houses of parliament which is imperative in order to govern effectively. The European Commission, France and Luxembourg have already sent their congratulations to Prodi. Link

db: This could develop into great entertainment - as long as the end result is his removal from power. Upside would be his imprisonment.
