Seven British soldiers have Iraq murder charges dropped

unison.ie: A British military court has thrown out the charges against seven soldiers accused of murdering an Iraqi teenager near the city of Basra in 2003.

The seven had been accused of beating Nadhem Abdullah to death with the butts of their rifles.

Prosecutors said the soldiers wrongly believed the 18-year-old had been in a car that had earlier evaded a British checkpoint.

However, a judge at a military court in England today ordered that not guilty verdicts be handed down against all the defendants due to a lack of evidence. Link
