UK police Taser 50,000 volts into man in coma
A bus driver raised the alarm after becoming suspicious about a passenger with a rucksack on a First service bus at Holt Park Road, Holt Park, Leeds, at around 7pm on July 13.
Firearms officers set up a 100m cordon around the bus. They made repeated requests for the man to leave the bus but he did not respond, the police said.
He was then shot with a Taser stun gun, which delivers a 50,000 volt shock and is designed to cause incapacity.
Police have declined to comment on reports that the victim, a man in his 30s from Leeds, is a diabetic, and did not respond because he had fallen into a hypoglycaemic coma due to his condition. Read more
