Ken Clarke: "Leading Bush ally became foremost terror target"
Conservative Party leadership candidate Kenneth Clarke said Prime Minister Tony Blair's decision to support the U.S.-led war in Iraq made Britain a target for Muslim terrorists.
"The disastrous decision to invade Iraq has made Britain a more dangerous place,'' Clarke said today in a speech in London. The government's decision "to become the leading ally of President Bush in the Iraq debacle has made Britain one of the foremost targets for Islamic extremists.''

db: Ken, man of the people, lover of the British 0.5683 litre, now British anti-war figurehead? No I don't think so. There are two large factors here - 1. The Tories have an election running [which is 'heating up' as one newspaper put it]. 2. You don't have to be an anti-war figurehead to acknowledge what is glaringly obvious [see previous posts on the glaringly obvious].
I am keen to see who the well-fed, bulging eyed one is going to have as his deputy - we can all drop dead at any minute - Ken might well be one that does the off sooner than many.
