Radiation beach to stay shut for tests
A 100-yard-long stretch of the beach was closed to the public on Friday after nuclear material was discovered in the sand.
And as the barricades went up at the height of the holiday season, locals spoke of their fears for the public.
The dust-sized particles were found below the tide level during routine monitoring by the Scottish Environment Protection Agency - SEPA - in late July.
Yesterday, they had still to identify the contamination source, but part of their probe is focusing on a nearby pipe.
