They just got a different tool to use than we do: They kill innocent lives to achieve objectives. That's what they do. And they're good. They get on the TV screens and they get people to ask questions about, well, you know, this, that or the other. I mean, they're able to kind of say to people: Don't come and bother us, because we will kill you. Bush - Joint News Conference with Blair - 28 July '06

Military style justice

Major Clarke Paulus ordered a subordinate to drag Nagem Hatab, 52, an Iraqi prisoner, by the neck for approximately 20 feet. Why by the neck? "It was the only area that didn't have faeces on it," Paulus testified.

Hatab died shortly afterward; a military forensics examiner found he broke a bone in his neck and suffocated .

Powlas faces a maximum sentence of 18 months. The marine in question was given 60 days hard labour and demoted to private.
