Blair lashes out with understanding

Callcentre staff, salesmen and sleazy politicians all know the value of claiming to 'understand' in the face of overwhelming evidence that things have gone horribly wrong - be it erroneous bank charges, a useless IT system or a cry for justice regarding state terror perpetrated in the Middle East. This sort of understanding is a trick - worthless. Ignorance itself offers more hope.
