Ten dead in U.S. helicopter crash in Afghanistan
The helicopter crashed while on combat operations in the eastern province of Kunar late on Friday. The U.S. military said the crash was not a result of enemy fire.
"The remains of 10 servicemen were found in the aircraft. There were no survivors," said U.S. military spokeswoman Lieutenant Tamara Lawrence.
She declined to specify the nationality of the dead. U.S. forces work with Afghan troops and soldiers from other countries in a U.S.-led alliance. Read more
