Iran will continue to observe NPT

tehrantimes: Supreme National Security Council Deputy Secretary General Javad Vaeedi told reporters in Vienna on Saturday that Iran would immediately start industrial-scale uranium enrichment and end all suspensions of nuclear activities in response to the International Atomic Energy Agency Board of Governors vote to report its nuclear dossier to the UN Security Council.

Therefore, the Russian nuclear proposal will no longer be considered, although Iran will continue some cooperation, and Iran has never turned its back on constructive negotiations, Vaeedi said, as quoted by the Mehr News Agency correspondent in the Austrian capital.

Vaeedi was speaking minutes after the 35-nation IAEA Board voted to report Iran to the UN Security Council, which will wait a month before deciding on possible punitive measures.

"This situation is not a crisis between Iran and the international community as the Westerners say. Vaeedi said the "resolution is politically motivated since it is not based on any legal or technical grounds." Read more
