Iraq between Germany and South Africa

al-hayat: How should Iraqis and their friends be thinking these days about the ever-present challenges of "de-Baathification" and of bringing Saddam Hussein to trial? So far the "model" used in both those respects has been that of post-WW2 Germany. But maybe the model of South Africa's transition out of minority rule would be equally, or even more, appropriate for Iraq? Read more
