Al-Qaida threatens London with more destruction
yahoo-AP: Al-Qaida deputy leader Ayman al-Zawahri threatened more destruction in London, saying in a videotape broadcast Thursday that British Prime Minister Tony Blair would be to blame
The tape, aired on the pan-Arab satellite channel Al-Jazeera, was delivered exactly one month after the July 7 bombings in London that killed 56 people, including four suicide attackers.
"Blair has brought to you destruction in central London, and he will bring more of that, God willing," al-Zawahri said in the tape, referring to the July 7 and July 21 attacks on London's subways and buses.
In London, Blair's Downing Street office declined to comment on the broadcast. Read more + video
db: In common with Zawahri I blame Blair for the London bombs - along with Bush, Al-Qaida, and not least the criminaly insane young men who carried them. Nobody in their right mind wants to be seen as being on the 'same side' of an argument as Zawahri - but that is no reason to refrain from holding Blair, at least partly, responsible.
