They just got a different tool to use than we do: They kill innocent lives to achieve objectives. That's what they do. And they're good. They get on the TV screens and they get people to ask questions about, well, you know, this, that or the other. I mean, they're able to kind of say to people: Don't come and bother us, because we will kill you. Bush - Joint News Conference with Blair - 28 July '06

What could be more barbaric than ISIL killing Alan Henning?

Yes, they killed poor Mr Henning. Thanks Dave for reminding us of the perpetrators' brutality and barbarism. Is it time for a ground war yet?  No not yet. I didn't notice Dave twitting on the subject of 30 - 50 (depending on source)  Syrian children being slaughtered in Ekrima neighbourhood, Homs on Thursday last.  Yes, the murder of Henning did - as Dave says - show how barbaric ISIL are, but I would argue that the pitiless slaughter of 30 -50 children provides an even more compelling case when it comes to barbarity. After all, Saudi Arabia - source of much Wahhabi/Salafi barbarism -  severs heads regularly (Dave doesn't tweet about that either). But of course, the child killers are not thought to be members of ISIL. And, as most news sources are quick to point out, the twin bombs targeted an area loyal to the government, so I presume they were 'moderate opposition'. My thoughts are with the parents.
